Welcome - CNH LWML - Lutheran Women in Mission

Now is the time to plan attending the LWML California-Nevada-Hawaii Convention in Rohnert Park on April 20-22, 2012. So many exciting happenings are planned. Extreme Service, based on 1Peter 4: 10-11, is the convention theme. The convention goal is: Because of God’s extreme love, we are challenged to extreme service. John Nunes, president and CEO of Lutheran World Relief will lead us in Bible study. His wife, Monique Nunes will be the inspirational speaker. Pat Reichert, VP of Special Focus Ministries, will bring us news from national LWML. Gloria Edwards, former LWML CNH and LWML president will lead the Friday afternoon service activities.

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If any speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen 1Peter 4:10-11

Fellowship, worship, singing, prayer, Bible study, service, business, elections, caring, and humor are just a few of the components of a LWML convention. The dedicated Convention Planning Committee, the officers of the CNH LWML District and YOU are part of the dedicated women (and LWML men) who offer time, talents, creativity and commitment.

As we begin a new year Serving the Lord with Gladness, I’ll close with a prayer by Helen Steiner Rice.

God, grant us the grace as another year starts
to use all the hours of our days,
Not for our own selfish interests
and our own willful, often-wrong ways –
But teach us to take time for Praying
and to find time for listening to You
So each day is spent well and wisely doing
What You Most Want Us To do.

God is good and so faithful to us in the CNH District.  Let us return that faith 10 fold in the support of all of our Grant Projects.

Remember 25% of our Mites go to LWML to help fund the mission work of our national organization.   Continue to send your Mites in each month especially doubling your effort at this time to help with our national mission goal that is now running behind.   Go to the LWML website (http://www.lwml.org/) to see the list of mission grants for this biennium.
